Private Airport in San Francisco
San Rafael Airport & Business Park is a privately owned general aviation airport managed exclusively for the use and benefit of its members. Our members include approximately 150 pilots flying 100 aircraft from Cubs to turboprops, as well as 8-10 industrial tenants in a segregated area of the property.
In 2001 the airport owners embarked on a major renovation and repositioning of the property with the goal of providing the best quality flying experience in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a private, restricted access airfield with limited membership, pilots do not compete for taxiway and airspace, even on weekends. When fog or heavy winds shut down other airfields in the Bay Area, our pilots can often fly owing to our sheltered location in north San Rafael.
Our proximity to the Golden Gate and Richmond Bridges, as well as Highway 101, provides fast car access from San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, and the East Bay. When combined with major airport improvements, including 40 brand new executive hangars and a newly repaved runway, San Francisco and North Bay pilots have the premiere option available at San Rafael Airport. We call the experience “Enjoy Private Sky,” and know you’re going to love the level of privacy, personal attention, lack of stress, and sheer fun that comes from flying with us.
